Abstract

logic approach for the enhancement of images corrupted with impulse noise is presented where a Fuzzy filter is used for the removal of random impulse noise in color image sequences.As only one strong filtering step may inevitably remove a considerable amount of details in the images.To avoid this a successive filtering steps is presented which gives a very good tradeoff between preservation and noise removal is obtained.therefore,impulse noise is filtered step by step.In each step, noisy pixels are detected by the fuzzy rules, which are very useful for the processing of human knowledge where linguistic variables are used.Pixels that are detected as noisy is done by blockmatching based on a noise adaptive mean absolute difference. The experiment shows that the proposed method outperforms other stste-of-the-art filters both visually and in terms of objective quality measures such as the mean absolute error (MAE), the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and the normalized color difference(NCD)
